    Quick Tip: Do not turn on either the projector nor your laptop until both are connected via the VGA or HDMI cable. By doing this, most laptops will acknowledge an outside display source is connected to it during boot up and will detect and send the signal automatically to the projector.

SENDING THE SIGNAL FROM YOUR SOURCE TO THE PROJECTOR

OPTION 1:

Press and hold the WINDOWS key and the letter “P” Key simultaneously. WINDOWS KEY PYou should be provided these options:
WINDOWS SOURCE SELECTCHOOSE THE DESIRED OPTION (LIKE “DUPLICATE”)

OPTION 2:

  • Use the Control Panel:
  • Open Control Panel
  • Click on HARDWARE AND SOUND
  • In the DISPLAY category – Click “CONNECT TO A PROJECTOR”

OPTION 3:

Use the Function Key “FN” with the corresponding “F” key at the top of the keyboard to extend the source to the projector (This widely depends on your own personal computer model). Here are some common laptop models and keys:

Identify the type of port you have available on your machine (Thunderbolt/MiniDisplayPort, Lighting, Full size HDMI, DVI). Be sure that you have the necessary adapter or cable to run from your machine to the provided projector.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Most commercial projectors have a VGA and/or DVI inputs. Not all have HDMI inputs unless specifically mentioned as a High Definition (HD) projector. Most projectors DO NOT HAVE Thunderbolt/MiniDisplayPorts nor Lighting ports as these are Apple specific technology!

YOU WILL NEED AN ADAPTER UNLESS YOU HAVE A FULL SIZE HDMI PORT ON YOUR MACHINE.

  • STEP 1: TURN BOTH THE PROJECTOR AND YOUR LAPTOP OFF
  • STEP 2: Connect the projector and laptop with the adapter and/or cable via the available ports on either unit. STEP 3: Turn the projector on.
  • STEP 4: Turn the laptop on.If the laptop does not automatically detect the projector as a display source, follow these steps:System Preferences > Displays and click the button for “Detect Displays”
